Which board records can help explain the applicant’s executive role?

THE DIRECT ANSWER

Use genuine records showing the applicant’s decisions, policy responsibilities and the board’s oversight. A title in meeting minutes may provide context without explaining the full role.

Show what each participant actually decided

Identify the proposal, authority, resulting decision and who implemented it. Preserve accurate authorship and limits on discretion. Do not rewrite a board decision as if the applicant made it alone. A selected example should illuminate the actual responsibilities, while the broader duty account explains how the person primarily works rather than relying on one impressive transaction.

For a trucking operation that means customer invoices across months rather than a single large contract, dispatch or load logs, driver payroll, equipment and maintenance records, insurance, and financial statements with tax filings behind them. Corporate records and ownership documents establish the relationship; payroll, tax, and employment records establish the overseas service; organization charts, position descriptions, and authority records establish the foreign and proposed US roles; invoices, contracts, and operating records establish that the companies are doing business. Eligibility still requires a parent, branch, subsidiary, or affiliate relationship, one continuous year of full-time foreign employment in a managerial, executive, or specialized-knowledge capacity within the relevant preceding three-year period, and primarily managerial or executive U.S. duties.
