Read the general immigrant investor briefing overview
A Spruce Grove applicant comparing EB-5 with Gold Card should identify the role and purpose associated with each payment. A project run by professional managers is not the same arrangement as a gift to the government.
Read the EB-5 rights and investment conditions
EB-5 engagement can involve day-to-day managerial control or policy formulation; review actual governance rights instead of assuming every investor must run operations. Current general thresholds are US$1,050,000 or US$800,000 for a qualifying targeted employment area or infrastructure project, with adjustment beginning January 1, 2027. Lawful at-risk capital and at least ten qualifying permanent full-time jobs per investor remain required. Participation evidence does not replace those conditions.

Current terms checked September 7, 2026 state US$15,000 nonrefundable processing per person, then after successful vetting US$1 million for an individual principal or US$2 million per corporate employee. Each eligible joining spouse or unmarried child under 21 adds US$15,000 and US$1 million, including corporately. Corporate maintenance is 1% annually and transfer is 5% including a new background check. Verify additional visa-related or medical charges. The gift goes to government, not an EB-5 enterprise offering return. A corporate transfer does not automatically approve the replacement employee.
Keep later obligations in the comparison
EB-5 petition approval is not residence; the applicable residence process follows and I-829 is generally filed in the 90 days before conditional residence’s second anniversary. Gold Card uses EB-1 or EB-2 subject to category eligibility, admissibility and visa availability. Neither a passive marketing description nor a private return promise establishes immigration approval, financial performance or permission to work. Conditional residence begins at immigrant admission or adjustment approval, not at investment or petition approval.
