Do not assume the documents have the same legal purpose. Preserve the actual confirmation and obtain an assessment of any tax documentation required for the claimed treatment.
Use each record for what it establishes
CRA’s general guidance does not make every document labelled receipt sufficient for a charitable credit. This page does not determine Gold Card deductibility. Identify the real payer, recipient, amount and nature of the payment instead of relabelling a banking confirmation as a tax decision.
Identity and family information, a precise description of the actual proposal, and specific questions about eligibility and funding, followed by whatever USCIS forms and evidence the official instructions require after the initial step. Build a child-specific chronology before payment: long-form birth record, passports, custody or adoption evidence where relevant, marital-status records, prior filings, and exact dates needed for any CSPA review. Reconciliation means checking each answer against the supporting record before a new representative repeats it: identity and travel documents, employment history, relationship records, prior immigration history, notices, portal messages and receipts should tell the same story. Alongside the funds narrative, expect the ordinary civil record to be requested: birth, marriage and any divorce or death certificates, police records from countries of long residence, and identity documents in every name the applicant has used.
