How do the individual and corporate principal gifts differ?

THE DIRECT ANSWER

Current published terms specify a US$1 million individual-principal gift or US$2 million per corporate-sponsored employee after vetting and instructions.

Keep gift and processing separate

Processing is US$15,000 nonrefundable per person. Eligible joining family members add their own US$1 million gifts and processing. Corporate terms include 1% annual maintenance and 5% transfer with a new background check; replacement approval is not automatic. Verify the current terms rather than relying on an employer’s shorthand budget.

A defined scope of work, the total fee and its payment schedule, what is refundable and at which stage, the adviser's authorization to give immigration advice, and their written statement of the current official terms. Keep four categories apart: the nonrefundable processing fees, the gift to the U.S. government, professional and government costs associated with the underlying immigrant classification, and the household's own relocation and living reserve. The single most important commercial question is therefore what happens to the money if an application is refused, withdrawn or abandoned, and the answer must come from the government's own published material rather than from an intermediary with an interest in the transaction. Money paid to a private adviser sits under an engagement agreement with its own termination and refund clauses; a published government payment sits under published conditions, including a charge described as nonrefundable.
