Check the current official terms for the specific additional amount per included family member, rather than relying on an informal account that may have simplified or misremembered the structure. The second holds the household's own facts: each adult's citizenship, current employment and any business interests, the assets available and their sources, each child's age, and what the family is actually trying to achieve. Whether someone qualifies as a joining family member depends on the relationship qualifying at the relevant time, so a twenty-first birthday or a change in marital status is a date that matters as much as any figure. Employment-based nonimmigrant categories have established dependant rules that differ among themselves, and the Gold Card framework's family terms must be taken from its official materials.
