THE SHORT ANSWER

A hypothetical Leduc County engineer may have an offer from one company and a project statement from another. Explain how the actual responsibilities fit together instead of selecting whichever document uses the strongest professional terminology.

01

Identify the differences that matter

Compare the proposed duties, recipient, work period and responsibility for deliverables. One party may describe design analysis while another expects routine operations. Resolve the real arrangement before obtaining updated evidence; identical wording is not useful if the parties intend different work.

02

Establish the Engineer qualification independently

The listed route is a baccalaureate or licenciatura degree, or a state or provincial licence. Explain the actual credential and proposed engineering activity. Degrees from institutions outside Canada, Mexico and the United States require reliable foreign-credential evaluation. A professional licence should not be presented as a complete description of duties or proof that every separate practice requirement is resolved.

03

Preserve the remaining TN conditions

The applicant needs Canadian or Mexican citizenship, prearranged qualifying professional activity and temporary entry. A U.S. or foreign employer may arrange the work, but a U.S. recipient solely owned or controlled by the applicant presents prohibited TN self-employment. Adding a client supervisor does not cure that ownership issue. A foreign business interest alone is not an automatic exclusion; identify the actual entities and relationships.
