Does the principal’s Gold Card gift include a newly joining eligible spouse or child?

THE DIRECT ANSWER

The current official FAQ assigns each eligible joining family member a separate US$1 million gift and US$15,000 processing fee, including under corporate sponsorship.

The family framework addresses a spouse and unmarried children under 21, with initial inclusion recommended for the associated program benefits. If the family changes later, obtain the correct procedure rather than inventing automatic inclusion or exclusion. The principal’s payment does not itself give the other person residence or permission to work.

Because a successful case is adjudicated in an employment-based immigrant category, the file resembles an EB-1 or EB-2 case: passports, birth and marriage certificates, the principal’s qualifications, and evidence of admissibility including police certificates and medical examinations at the consular stage. Assemble the birth record, passport, custody or adoption material if relevant, proof of relationship, marital-status evidence and an individual age or CSPA analysis; a principal's payment receipt proves none of those facts. A spouse who might remain behind for a school year, a child approaching twenty-one, or a stepchild each raise questions worth putting to counsel before anything is submitted, since adding someone later is not a simple top-up of the amounts.
