Review how the change affects the actual knowledge and duties relied upon. Do not assume the old technical description remains accurate or that every update has the same procedural effect.
Assess the current assignment and material facts
Preserve the relevant versions and identify what the applicant will actually do. Obtain the appropriate assessment of any needed update through the real process. A software release deadline does not guarantee approval or justify leaving a materially misleading role description uncorrected.
Preparation begins with an internal request for the documents that support the knowledge claim, and that request nearly always uncovers gaps: a protocol whose author has left, a validation report filed under an old system, a training record kept on paper. The realistic preparation window covers assembling contemporaneous technical records, confirming the ownership chain between the two organizations, and verifying that the continuous qualifying year is unbroken on the payroll as it actually ran rather than as it is remembered. L-1B eligibility still depends on the related organizations, the worker’s required continuous year of qualifying employment abroad inside the applicable three-year lookback, and special or advanced company knowledge used in the assignment.
