Does a widely recognized vendor certification establish L-1B specialized knowledge?

THE DIRECT ANSWER

Not by itself. Explain the special product knowledge or advanced organizational-process knowledge and how the proposed U.S. duties use it.

Identify the claim beyond the certificate

A vendor course may be relevant background without proving the organization-specific level relied upon. Conversely, externally available training does not automatically defeat a supported claim. The qualifying corporate relationship, continuing business and required foreign employment remain independent conditions.

The petition should explain why the claimed knowledge is particular to the company rather than merely a general engineering skill; there is no separate requirement to prove that workers are unavailable in the US labour market. Begin with the production process itself: what it makes, which equipment and parameters it depends on, how it differs from a general industry method, and why the receiving site cannot simply follow published practice. If the replacement would need months inside the company to learn coating formulations, calibration tolerances and the failure modes discovered during four seasons of trials, that is knowledge special to the organisation. Specialized knowledge concerns company products, processes, or procedures rather than general skill; a new office starts with one-year approval, while the classification ordinarily ends after five total years.
