Can a translator’s delay be assumed to extend an official Gold Card response date?

THE DIRECT ANSWER

No automatic extension should be assumed. Track the real request and obtain the appropriate guidance if the document cannot be prepared on the planned schedule.

Coordinate the translation around the actual notice

Identify the requested record, applicable instructions and stated date early. Do not submit an abridged translation as complete merely to meet a private preparation target, or assume a vendor’s delivery promise determines the government’s decision date.

The official program describes an online application and nonrefundable processing fee, applicant vetting, a gift request after successful vetting, and then the remaining visa process; a cleared payment does not itself confer admission or permanent resident status. Compare the pending petition's category, priority date and country of chargeability with the current visa bulletin, then compare its procedural posture with the official Gold Card sequence of fee payment, vetting, gift request, EB-1 or EB-2 approval and visa availability. Anyone offering a guaranteed completion date is describing something the published process does not support, since government review, visa availability and possible additional document requests are outside an adviser's control. Official material describing portions of the process in weeks is a description rather than a commitment, and vetting length, document requests, interview scheduling, and visa availability all affect an individual case.
