Does being assigned to mentor U.S. staff prove L-1B specialized knowledge?

THE DIRECT ANSWER

The assignment alone does not prove the knowledge standard. Describe the special organizational knowledge or advanced processes the employee actually uses.

Explain why the mentoring requires that knowledge

A course may involve ordinary instruction or a more advanced internal method; the label does not decide. Use genuine examples of the applicant’s experience and proposed responsibilities. Knowledge need not be unique or proprietary, but a nomination by management does not replace the qualifying corporate relationship, continuing business or foreign-employment evidence.

The workflow manual — the extraction rules, validation steps, scoring thresholds and quality gates as the company actually applies them — can make the knowledge concrete and show how it relates to the organization rather than general industry practice.

If the answer involves a control sequence the company developed, a fault library built from its own installed base, or a commissioning protocol that exists nowhere else, there is something specific to describe. A procedure can be written down and still require an advanced level of knowledge to apply, because judgement about which formulation suits a given pavement temperature, traffic volume and residual chloride load is not reducible to a step list.
