The spouse’s actual qualifying status and evidence govern their authorization. A business scheduling change is not itself a new dependent admission record.
Check individual records when plans change
A qualifying L spouse may work incident to valid status with appropriate evidence, including the relevant spouse-designated I-94. Unmarried children under 21 may qualify as dependents but do not receive the spouse’s employment authorization. Review material changes and actual dates through the proper process rather than assuming a commercial lull either extends or cancels everyone’s permission automatically.
For a child, school attendance is generally the practical focus; an employment offer, paid placement, or business activity should not be assumed permissible simply because the parent holds L-1A. L-2 eligibility follows from the executive's own approved L-1A status once granted; the layoff issue is resolved at the principal petition stage and does not create a separate family requirement. A spouse's employer, a school, and a landlord will each want an answer sooner than the case can give one, and a household that has agreed its own fallback positions in advance answers those questions calmly rather than under pressure.
