Reassess the materially changed duties before relying on the original TN description.
Use the role that will actually be performed
Obtain the current assignment and identify whether qualifying professional work remains. An earlier laboratory offer does not settle a later administrative role. Keep the start and travel plan linked to the appropriate assessment of the actual work.
The safe sequence starts with a written confirmation that the duties fit a listed profession and the credential limb is satisfied; for a diploma-plus-experience case that includes collecting the employer letters, which can take weeks if a former employer is slow. Meetings booked around an assumed start date create pressure to proceed on assumptions, and moving a calendar entry is far easier than undoing an activity already performed. An updated employer letter, a current licence and any change in the role all take time to assemble, and a lapse in the licence or a gap in the employment record is much harder to remedy close to the deadline. The safer sequence keeps the Canadian licence current and the Canadian job in place until the state credential issues, then moves quickly, because the immigration step itself is measured in a day.
