A Canadian academic or employment history does not establish the citizenship required for TN.
Identify the actual citizenship record
TN is limited to Canadian or Mexican citizens. Canadian permanent residence, a Canadian degree and years of local employment do not themselves establish Canadian citizenship. Confirm nationality before organizing the application around the listed profession.
Then review qualification and procedure
The Biochemist degree and qualifying professional duties remain necessary alongside temporary entry and the work arrangement. Mexican citizens generally require a TN visa; Canadian citizens generally do not, while still needing to establish eligibility and admission. Residence in Strathcona County does not remove that procedural distinction.
Record family documents separately
An eligible spouse or unmarried child under 21 may seek TD, which permits study but not employment. Check each person’s citizenship and required documentation rather than copying the principal’s assumptions. A spouse’s Canadian academic history is not independent permission to work in the United States.
