Closing does not itself grant immigration permission. Confirm the actual qualifying arrangement and required process before the proposed assignment starts.
Keep operational handover and admission distinct
The buyer may need knowledge urgently on closing day, but a private contract cannot supply approval or admission. Identify the employee’s current location and authorized activities, the evidence still outstanding and the actual proposed worksite. A deadline to transfer internal systems does not remove the foreign-year, corporate relationship or specialized-knowledge requirements.
Prepare a placement timeline showing remaining L-1B time, assignment dates, client location, petitioner supervision, deliverables, and every change from the approved duties. The prudent sequence is to confirm the grower's continuous year abroad and the affiliate's active status, gather the technical exhibits while the current season's reports are fresh, file with premium processing, and hold the travel and housing arrangements until the approval notice arrives. Confirm separately that the qualifying year of employment abroad with a related entity falls within the three years preceding the request, since that period is fixed by the calendar and can lapse while a project schedule slips.
