A capital figure is not necessarily a complete quotation for everything the investor and family will need to pay. The current capital figures are US$1,050,000, or US$800,000 for a qualifying targeted employment area or infrastructure project; scheduled statutory adjustments start January 1, 2027.
Check the consequence of cancelling at each stage
Read the refund and cancellation provisions for each payment, naming the party that receives it. Compare the signed documents with the sales summary and request clarification when the terms differ. Include independent investment advice in the decision process, and avoid treating an immigration-related fee as money expected to earn a return. This exercise makes the financial commitments visible without predicting investment performance or approval.
Beyond the capital itself, budget separately for the costs that sit around it: administrative fees charged by a project, legal fees for the petition and for the funds-tracing work, translation of foreign-language records, and later the cost of the petition to remove conditions.
